Why medication support matters
Taking the right medicine at the right time is vital for staying well. But with several medicines to manage, changing prescriptions, or memory problems, it is easy to miss a dose or take one twice. Our medication support helps you stay safe and gives your family peace of mind.
Levels of medication support
Following your free nurse assessment, we will agree the level of support that is right for you:
- Medication prompting: a reminder to take your medicines, and a check that you have taken them, for people who manage their own medication but sometimes forget
- Medication assistance: help opening packaging, pouring liquids or applying creams, while you remain in control
- Medication administration: our trained carers give your medicines to you as prescribed, where you are no longer able to manage them yourself
Safe, recorded and nurse-led
All of our carers complete mandatory medications management training, and medication is recorded at every visit. Our nurse-led management team oversees medication support and reviews it regularly. We liaise with your GP and local pharmacy about repeat prescriptions, changes to medication and any concerns, and we can collect prescriptions for you.
