Questions about home care

Frequently asked questions

What areas do you cover?

We provide home care across the Fylde Coast, including Blackpool, South Shore, Marton, Lytham, St Annes, Kirkham, Freckleton, Warton, Poulton-le-Fylde, Staining, Thornton, Cleveleys and Fleetwood. If you are not sure whether we cover your address, please call us on 01253 759613.

What does nurse-led home care mean?

Farrell Healthcare was founded and is run by qualified nurses. Every new client receives a free initial assessment by a qualified nurse, care plans are reviewed by our nurse-led team, and our carers are trained and regularly shadowed by a qualified nurse assessor.

How much does home care cost?

The cost depends on the type of care you need and the number and length of visits. After your free assessment we will explain costs clearly, with no obligation. Care can be paid for privately or through Direct Payments or a personal budget. See our paying for care page.

How do I arrange care for a parent or relative?

Call us on 01253 759613 or send us a message. We will talk through the situation, arrange a free nurse assessment at home, ideally with your relative and family present, and then agree a personalised care plan.

Are your carers DBS checked and trained?

Yes. All staff are DBS checked, receive an annual appraisal, and complete mandatory training in safeguarding vulnerable adults, medications management, moving and handling, food hygiene, infection prevention and challenging behaviour.

Are you regulated?

Yes. Farrell Healthcare is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), England's independent regulator of health and social care, and is rated Good. We are also registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
