A sociable, supported day out

Our day care service gives older adults the chance to get out of the house, meet people and enjoy a varied programme of activities in a safe, friendly setting. It is ideal for people who live alone, feel isolated, or who would simply enjoy some company and a change of scene.

What happens at day care

Days are relaxed and sociable. Activities are planned around the interests of the people who attend and may include:

  • Arts, crafts and seasonal activities
  • Quizzes, games, music and reminiscence
  • Gentle seated exercise to keep people moving
  • Visiting entertainers and celebrations
  • A nutritious lunch, drinks and snacks
  • Time to chat, read, rest and make friends

Support from trained carers

Our day care team are the same trained, DBS-checked staff who provide our home care service. They can help with personal care, medication prompting and mobility during the day, so people with a range of needs, including those living with dementia, can enjoy their time with us.

A break for family carers

Day care also gives family carers regular, reliable time to themselves: to work, rest, run errands or attend their own appointments, knowing their loved one is enjoying their day.

Combine day care with home care

Many families combine day care with our home care visits, for example a morning call to help someone get ready, a day at the centre, and an evening visit to help them settle. Call us on 01253 759613 to ask about our day care location, opening days and availability.
