Why home is often the best place for dementia care
For many people living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, familiar surroundings make a real difference. Their own home, their own belongings and a settled daily routine can reduce confusion and anxiety, and help them hold on to their independence for longer.
Our dementia care service is designed to make that possible. We aim to provide a small team of the same carers, so your loved one gets to know them and feels comfortable with them, and the carers in turn get to know their history, likes, dislikes and the little things that bring them comfort.
Nurse-led expertise in dementia care
Dementia is one of the areas of expertise of our executive team, who have over 25 years' combined experience in community nursing, long-term conditions and care of the elderly. Every dementia care package begins with a free assessment by a qualified nurse, who will look at safety in the home, nutrition and hydration, medication, sleep and wellbeing.
Our carers complete training that includes safeguarding vulnerable adults and supporting people whose behaviour may be challenging, so they can respond with patience, reassurance and understanding when things are difficult.
Support for the whole family
Caring for someone with dementia can be exhausting and emotional. We work closely with families, keeping you informed and involved in decisions about care. Whether you need a few hours of support each week so you can rest, or regular visits every day, we will build a plan that works for everyone.
As dementia progresses
Needs change over time. Our nurse-led team reviews care plans regularly and liaises with GPs, memory services, community mental health teams and district nurses. If more support is needed, including overnight care or end of life care, we can provide it without your loved one having to adjust to a new provider.

Frequently asked questions
Can someone with advanced dementia be cared for at home?
In many cases, yes. With the right care plan, specialist input and support from health professionals, people can often stay at home through the later stages of dementia. Our nurse-led team will talk openly with you about what is safe and achievable.
Will my relative have the same carers?
We aim to provide a small, consistent team because familiarity matters so much in dementia care. We introduce carers carefully and take time to learn your loved one's life story and preferences.
Do you offer respite for family carers?
Yes. Many families use our respite and sitting service so they can rest, work or attend appointments, knowing their loved one is safe and well looked after.
What if my relative becomes distressed or confused?
Our carers are trained to respond calmly and with reassurance. We record and share any changes in mood or behaviour with you and, where needed, with the GP or memory service.
