Armistice Day on 11th November, the anniversary of the end of hostilities in World War 1 in 1918.

Poppies are worn as a show of support for the Armed Forces community. The poppy is a well established symbol that carries a wealth of history. Wreaths of remembrance poppies are laid on the memorials and two minutes silence is held at 11am.

Remembrance Day brings up memories and triggers emotions for older generations. It can represent loyalty, loss, tradition and respect. It is a day to remember veterans with pride and a warm heart.
